What we are looking for in this position:
As a member of our finance team, you will prepare, organize, input, and verify our various financial transactions and reports to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. This is a detail-oriented position that is vital to our daily operations. Our ideal candidate has at least an associate degree in accounting, or equivalent on the job experience, excellent communication, organizational, and math skills. You must have 2+ years of experience or strong skills in financial administration. You must also work well under pressure, multitasking, and be independent.

The position will spend a lot of time conducting the following activities:
  • Reviewing and verifying financial transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Entering invoices, accounts receivables, and deposits.
  • Entering, printing, and mailing weekly accounts payable.
  • Monthly journal entries and reports.
  • Preparing quarterly ROI reports.
  • Bank reconciliation.
  • Filing of finance-related documents.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports.
Job Location: Rockford, IL
Starting Salary Range (based on experience): $36,905 - $40,000

RAMP Accounting Clerk

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To perform finance duties for the agency, including but not limited to organizing, inputting, and verifying our various financial transactions and reports to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. This position also requires an understanding of the principle of the Independent Living (IL) philosophy, and a genuine desire to carry out this philosophy.

POSITION PARAMETERS: Reports directly to the Chief Finance Officer; full-time; full benefits; salaried non-exempt; travel and expenses reimbursed; remote work opportunities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree in accounting, or equivalent education and work experience;
  • Two years of proven, successful work experience related to the position's job activities;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information in a clear, concise manner;
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel;
  • QuickBooks experience preferred;
  • Good teamwork;
  • Intermediate math skills;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Ability to analyze and perform research;
  • Works well under pressure;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Ability to work well independently through tasks;
  • Personal experience and/or an intimate knowledge of disability;
  • Strong desire to see the Independent Living Philosophy carried out in the community.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review and verify financial transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Enter invoices, accounts receivables, and deposits.
  • Purchase order processing.
  • Enter, print, and mail weekly accounts payable.
  • Purchasing card reconciliation of entries.
  • Monthly journal entries and reports.
  • Prepare quarterly ROI reports.
  • Filing of finance-related documents.
  • Bank reconciliation.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports.
  • Assist with audit.
  • Cross-trained in monthly billing.
  • Assist and support the CFO with other needs.
